The name of the Federation is the West Bengal State Multipurpose Consumers’ Cooperative Federation Ltd. and abbreviated as CONFED. The area of operation of the Federation shall extend to the state of West Bengal. The registered office the Federation will be situated for the present at P-1, Hide Lane, Akbar Mansion, 3rd Floor, Kolkata-700 073. It is an apex Co-operative Society whose area of membership and operation extends to the whole of West Bengal. At the time of the registration in 1965 the name of the organization was The West Bengal State Federation of Wholesale Consumers Co-operative Societies Limited. Trade Name, “CONFED WB”, the West Bengal State Consumer’s Co-operative Federation Limited come into existence in the year 1980 ( 5.12.1980) and its name has been amended and renamed as West Bengal State Multipurpose Consumers’ Cooperative Federation Ltd. as on 11.10.2018 under registration no: 466 dt.11.10.2018 of Registrar of Co-operative Societies, West Bengal. The Acts and Regulation of this co-operative society is guided by The West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 2006 and The West Bengal Co-operative Societies Rules, 2011.
